Congratulations to Nihon Hidankyo for the Nobel Peace Prize.
On 9th October 1891, Leo Tolstoy wrote to to Bertha Von Suttner (1843-1914) the first woman to win the Nobel Prize for Peace.
” Dear Madam,
I was just reading your novel ” Lay Down Your Arms”, which H.Boulgakov had sent me, when I received your letter.
I esteem your work highly, and it has occured to me that publication of your novel represents a good omen for the future.
The abolition of slavery was preceded by a famous novel (UncleTom’s Cabin) written by a woman, Harriet Beecher Stowe.
God grants that the abolition of war may follow yours.
